ABOUT OUR

internship

GET REAL EXPERIENCE
Looking for a real-world experience? Our interns get the same responsibilities as full-time staff members and the same level of access to discuss client matters with partners and our management team.

At the end of the program, you'll have gained an unparalleled skill set. Learn more.

We provide the tools, training and experience to achieve rapid professional growth. In fact, many of our partners and management team members started as interns. Our paid internship program includes:

INTERNSHIP STRATEGY
While you'll share in lessons and experiences common to all interns, you'll also get an internship program designed specifically for you. You'll benefit from a general job description, focused work within a specific discipline, and a detailed syllabus designed to help you make the most of your experience at Cohen & Company.

INTERN ORIENTATION
You'll start on the same day as your fellow interns and meet them during an orientation process to help you hit the ground running. Our Intern Coordinator will deliver a welcome address, review expectations and start you on the path to gaining your "first experience."

OPENING REPORT
We'll ask you to write down your expectations for the internship, treating your report like a client work-paper, which means completing it in accordance with Cohen & Company document preparation rules.

DAILY JOURNAL
You'll keep a daily journal outlining your experiences and lessons learned. The journal should be kept in a ready-to-read format and available to management team members upon request to make sure that our goals are in line.

WEEKLY MEETINGS
Our interns meet weekly to discuss experiences and review expectations. We hold these meetings at various Cohen offices, giving you an opportunity to experience the breadth of our culture. Meetings will include speeches and role-play situations addressing professionalism, communication, leadership, client relationships, personal development, and client service.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Because Cohen & Company values the importance of being positive community members and leaders, we donate time to local community organizations such as the Cleveland Food Bank.

INTERNSHIP WRAP-UP
At the end of our internship program, interns write a brief paper and deliver an oral presentation regarding their experiences. In addition, we provide real-world performance evaluation and invite critique of our internship program. Finally, we hold a social event to celebrate your accomplishments.
